SDHSAA State Esports Tournament
Bridgewater-Emery High School Competes in the 2025 SDHSAA eSports State Tournament
This marks the first year that Bridgewater-Emery High School is sending players to compete in the SDHSAA eSports State Tournament! Out of the 15 players on the team, B-E has qualified 7 to represent the school at the 2025 South Dakota High School State eSports Tournament. This year, the tournament will take place at Aberdeen Central High School on Friday and Saturday, February 14th and 15th.
The Husky Pack will be competing in the following games:

Austin Kjetland
Grace Stacken - Maximum Overdrive – Mario Kart 8
Asher Strombeck
Thomas Clark - Chess-mate – Chess

eSports is one of the fastest-growing sports in the nation, with increasing participation and viewership year after year.
South Dakota Public Broadcasting (SDPB), in partnership with Fenworks, will stream the event live on both Friday and Saturday. You can access the full event schedule here.
The games being played at the state tournament will include Chess, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rocket League, League of Legends, and Minecraft.
